In October of 1991 the Phoenix branch of Landa Water Cleaning Systems was sold to Greg Sprunk, who at the time was the one of the largest customers of the branch and owned a company called Superior Fleetwash Inc.
Greg Sprunk had grown up in Missoula Montana and had attended the University of Montana from 1981-1983 majoring in business management and had moved to Phoenix and was attending Scottsdale Community College and had started a mobile power washing company part time while going to college. From one truck that was equipped with Landa equipment from the start, Greg developed a relationship with the local Landa branch and by 1991 had purchased a total of 20 machines and had six trucks and 15 employees that serviced the metro area of Phoenix cleaning equipment, parking garages, buildings and fleets of trucks.
In 1991, Landa had decided to sell all of their existing branches and after a series of meetings Greg, an agreement was made to sell the Phoenix branch and it then became Superior Cleaning Equipment Inc. It was the only branch sold to a non-Landa employee. Sales have grown from under $500,000.00 in 1991 to over $5,000,000.00 today and include the Phoenix and San Diego store, which was opened in 2000.
In 1999, 2000 and 2003 Superior Cleaning Equipment was awarded the Number One Landa Dealer Award out of approximately 200 dealers in the world. Other awards include the #1 WaterMaze Dealer of the year award for the last 8 years straight as well as the Presidents Award from Landa and the top five dealers in the world for KO Manufacturing, a high quality chemical manufacturing company based in Missouri.
In 2004 SCE was awarded the Jim Coleman/Hanna dealerships for Arizona and Southern California and began their entry into the car wash business. As of 2007, SCE has designed, installed and/or currently servicing over 20 car washes for their customers.
That same year SCE was also awarded the CSI and Blendco distributorships and currently stocks their product in both warehouses.
